In order to embed additional assets in your digital publications, such as multimedia elements like video, audio and html files, you will need to navigate to the Files section on Publisher.
You can find this section at both the Publication Group Folder level or at the individual edition level.
If you upload assets at the Group level, those assets will become available to all the publications in that folder. However, if you upload them at the individual edition level they will only be available to embed within that publication.
Top Tip: In most cases, we advise uploading multimedia assets to the individual publication that will be using them, and only recommend uploading branding assets or logos to the group level.
Whichever level you choose, you will be presented with a screen like the following:

On this screen, before anything else is uploaded, you will see the original PDF file that you uploaded when creating the digital edition.
Eventually, if you have uploaded a lot of extra assets, the files may be spread across multiple pages, and you can use the search tool to find specific files.
You can also click on the tabs (top left) to filter by file type, such as .pdf, .mp4. .mp3, .zip, etc.
Each file has the following headers: Name, File Size, Usage, Uploaded time, Error status, and the option to download or delete it. For PDFs, there is the additional option to reprocess. You can click on these headers to sort the columns.
The main buttons on this screen are:
- Upload File
- Bulk File Upload
- Bulk Download Files
- Bulk Delete Files
To upload an asset, click the Upload File button and you will be presented with the following screen:

On this screen, you need to select the file that you want to upload, and then select a special usage (if applicable). Standard multimedia assets such as MP4 video files, MP3 audio files, JPG or PNG images do not require a special usage.
HTML assets in zipped folders require you to select the HTML Overlay special usage.
Once selected, click Upload File and the file will upload and appear within the Files section.
If you have uploaded a multimedia (or HTML) asset, you can then proceed to the Pages section and select a page thumbnail to enter the Overlay Editor, where you can add your multimedia asset.
Similarly, other assets will become available to select in their respective locations, such as an Intro Page PDF in the Branding section, the Price and Rollover Lists in the eCommerce section, and so on.
