Vector Text delivers crystal clear text in your digital publications that scales seamlessly without impacting quality. Your text will appear razor sharp on any screen size or device - even when zooming in.

How Vector Text works...
To deliver Vector Text, we've added new technology under the hood that converts your PDF into SVG files, with the text represented as vector graphics.
The main advantage Vector Text brings is the ability to scale to any size without losing quality, meaning your readers will experience the benefits of razor-sharp text on any high-pixel density or retina display.
Moving Beyond Page Tiler
Currently, your PDF is converted into JPEG files and split into sections to create your digital publication - a format we refer to as PageTiler. This is a clever way to create visually appealing, fast-loading and responsive digital publications.
However, if the quality of the original PDF file is sub-optimal, it becomes prone to a loss of quality when scaling to different sizes.
With the arrival of Vector Text, the PageTiler process remains the default format, but you now have the secondary option of converting your content to Vector Text format.
Selecting SVG Format
When creating a new edition, you will be presented with the option to use the default Tiled/PageTiler format or the new Vector SVG format:

Select Vector SVG and choose an Image Scale level on the slider. A larger scale size will increase the image quality when zooming in but also increase the file size and loading/rendering times.
We encourage you to experiment with these settings as your choices at this stage can be reversed in Settings > General after your digital edition has been created.
Switching Page Formats
Regardless of which format you initially selected, it is possible to reverse your choice and opt for the alternate format.
Simply go to your digital edition and click on Settings > General, and then scroll down to the Pages sub-section shown here:

Choose a new page format and adjust the image scale (if applicable, i.e. switching from PageTiler to Vector Text format), and then scroll down and click "Submit" at the bottom of the page to save your settings.
You now need to go to the Files section and re-process your PDF(s).
After re-processing, you can generate a new preview to see the change in format.
Adding Vector Text to your back catalogue
Digital publications created prior to the release of Vector Text will have been created in PageTiler format. To convert your back catalogue, you will need to follow the above process and select the SVG option, re-process the original PDF file(s) and then republish each of your digital editions.
