Overview
As a college or training provider, you will use the Redemption Code Platform to manage and control student access to digital publications provided by your publisher. The platform allows you to invite students, organise them into groups, and allocate access securely - without students needing to handle or share redemption codes themselves.
This approach is particularly well suited to cohort-based access (e.g. academic years, courses, or intake groups) and removes the risk of codes being shared between students.
Your Client Admin Account
Your institution will be set up on the platform as a Client account, with one or more Client Admin users.
As a Client Admin, you can:
- Log in to your dedicated area of the platform
- View and manage students associated with your institution
- Invite students to register securely by email
- Allocate access to one or more digital publications on behalf of students
- Organise students into groups for easier administration
You can also create additional College Admin users if more than one member of staff needs administrative access.
Student Access & Invitations
Instead of issuing redemption codes directly to students, the college manages access centrally.
The typical process is:
- Students are invited by email - You send students an email invitation directly from the platform.
- Students register and verify their account - Students complete a simple registration and verify their email address.
- Access is granted by the college - Once a student is verified, you can allocate access to the required digital publication(s) on their behalf.
IMPORTANT: Because access is redeemed centrally, students never see or handle multi-use redemption codes, eliminating the risk of codes being shared.
Managing Access at Scale
Colleges are typically issued with multi-use redemption codes by the publisher (for example, a code that allows 50 redemptions and grants access for 12 months).
These codes are used behind the scenes by the platform and are not distributed to students.
- For ease of administration, you can:
- Assign students to groups (e.g. “Year 1 Engineering”, “September Intake 2026”)
- Allocate access to entire groups rather than individual students
- Maintain visibility of which students have access and when that access expires
This makes the platform suitable for both small cohorts and large institutions.
Key Benefits for Colleges
- No code sharing risk – students never receive multi-use codes
- Centralised control – access is managed by staff, not students
- Clear audit trail – students linked to your institution are visible in your admin area
- Flexible access periods – access can be time-limited or ongoing, depending on your agreement
Scales easily – suitable for dozens or thousands of students
What Students See
From the student’s perspective, the experience is simple:
- They receive an invitation email
- They register and verify their account
- They log in and access the digital publications they’ve been assigned
All access management happens in the background by the college.
