Clear Your Flash Cache

Digital publications are based in Flash, and like your internet browser, Adobe Flash stores a cache of data should you wish to revisit the website. This can lead to old or stale content being stored on your machine making it more difficult for the latest version of your publication to be pulled through.

The following steps will show you how to delete all Flash Player data stored by websites on your computer.  To remove all browsing history, please see Clear Your Browser Cache.

The article is split into two - instructions for Windows and instructions for Apple OSX.

Windows

First of all, please ensure that all browser windows are closed for the changes to take effect.

Open your system control panel or preferences and open the Flash Player control panel

Select the Storage tab and click the Delete All... button.  Please note that the "Advanced" tab also contains a "Delete All..." button and the behavior and functionality are identical.

Verify that the Delete All Site Data and Settings checkbox is checked and click the Delete Data button

Mac OSX

First of all, please ensure that all browser windows are closed for the changes to take effect.

Open System Preferences and select Flash Player from the menu at the bottom

Select the Delete All.. button under the Storage tab

Ensuring that the Delete All Site Data and Settings box is ticked, hit Delete Data to clear your flash cache.
